BioTech2005 and the 3rd Swiss-Czech Symposium
will be held at the University of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Wädenswil.
Wädenswil is a picturesque town of about 20'000 inhabitants on the south
shore of the Lake of Zurich.
The Grüental Campus of the UAS Wädenswil, where the symposium will take
place, can be easily reached by public transport. The timetables of both
the Swiss Federal
Railways and the
local bus lines are available online.
•
Buses number 123 and 124 leave from the
Wädenswil railway station for the Grüental campus of the
UAS Wädenswil (bus stop “Hochschule”).
•
Alternatively, the UAS is about 20 minutes'
walk from the railway station or can be reached by taxi (ca. 10
CHF one way). The taxi stand is in front of the railway station
(tel. ++41-(0)1-780 52 52).
•
There are car parking facilities at “Schiessanlage
Beichlen” (see location plan below) with a shuttle-bus connection
to the university at the beginning and end of the sessions on each
day of the symposium.
•
Wädenswil is just over 20 kilometres
from Zurich and there are connecting trains 4 times an hour.
For overnight accommodation in Wädenswil, three hotels close to
the railway station are recommended: Engel, Du Lac and Volkshaus. There
are also hotels in the nearby town of Horgen and a wider range of accommodation
in Zurich. Both Horgen and Zurich have good train connections to Wädenswil.
